Rowe House

Melbourne, VIC

This extensive renovation and addition to an Edwardian era house in inner Melbourne was instigated by the changing needs of the family of four.

Multiple generations under one roof, in this case two mature and two young adults, is now a common reality. The considered layout allows spaces to be adapted as teenagers become adults and parents age. The new design offers the occupants the freedom to seek privacy or connect together as a family, allowing the inhabitants to feel personally comfortable as part of the evolving family dynamic.

The house is a striking assembly of robust yet refined spaces
