Creating a Hidden Gem

A transformative refurbishment of a unique attic house in Melbourne's Eastern suburbs. Significant internal replanning retained the original footprint whilst opening up the rear of the house to light and garden.  Kitchen, living and dining spaces are distinct yet connected. What appears to be wall paneling is a 3.6 metre wide door which slides away to reveal the secret cellar, a previously disused cavity below the stairs cleverly converted into a concealed gem, reminiscent of the hidden rooms in old stately homes.

Project completed during Geraldine's time as Director at Jackson Interiors.
